Vancouver’s Bitcoin Block Party will return on Sunday, August 23, following a one-year hiatus and a move to a new downtown home.
The free, all-ages event will take over the Bentall Centre Courtyard outside FUNK Coffee from noon to 8 p.m., bringing together Bitcoin education, local businesses, live entertainment, food, and family-friendly activities.
Previously held at Beaumont Studios in 2023 and 2024, this year’s Block Party is expected to be its largest yet. The courtyard lineup includes DJ sets from Fustler, No_Requests, and morimori, alongside a live performance by singer Vivian.
Visitors will also find the Bitcoin Bazaar, Crack On Food Truck, a FUNK Beer Garden, and a Kids Zone featuring giant Jenga, chess, colouring, cornhole, and more.
Every vendor at the event will accept Bitcoin alongside conventional payment methods, allowing attendees to spend their sats on food, drinks, apparel, books, gift cards, and other goods. A Bitcoin-enabled 21 Up vending machine and K1 Bitcoin ATM will also be on site.
“FUNK has always been about more than coffee,” said co-owner Kurtis Warren. “We want it to be a place where people come together, share ideas and build community.”
Inside FUNK Coffee, the Block Talks Speaker Series will explore Bitcoin, money, technology, and energy with speakers Scott Dedels, Julian Figueroa, Peruvian Bull, and Colin Sullivan. Two hands-on Zeus workshops will introduce attendees to Zeus Wallet and the fundamentals of Bitcoin wallets.
Swan Cinema will host a screening of Bitcoin Season, followed by an in-person question-and-answer session with director Mike Nicoll.
The Bitcoin Bazaar will showcase organizations and businesses including CoinCards, Sovereign Engineering, DCTRL, BitSprout, Bitcoin Manor, Trail’s Coffee, Emboss Active, and The Ghee Guy.
Whether attendees arrive to learn about Bitcoin, spend some sats, watch a film, hear a talk, or simply enjoy a summer afternoon downtown, organizers say no previous Bitcoin knowledge is required.
The Bitcoin Block Party takes place Sunday, August 23, 2026, from noon to 8 p.m. at the Bentall Centre Courtyard outside FUNK Coffee, located at 1025 Dunsmuir Street. Admission is free and open to all ages.
