New Ventures BC has announced the companies that are moving on to Round 3 of this year’s startup competition.
The New Ventures BC Competition started in 2000 under the direction of Wal van Lierop, to encourage innovation in BC’s tech sector. Since then, the organization has supported 2,360 startups, who have created 3,720+ jobs and have raised $302 million in financing.
This year’s panel of 64 judges evaluated the Round 2 submissions and selected 16 ventures to move directly into Round 3. In addition, 27 ventures were chosen to pitch in Round 2.5 with 9 making the final cut.

In the next stage of the competition, ventures will be paired with a mentor team and create a condensed business plan.
