Plenty of Fish has a long history in Vancouver.
While the online dating site started as a hobby for BCIT Grad and Founder Markus Frind, Plenty of Fish evolved into a full-time business in 2004 thanks to his success with Google Adsense.
Frind ran the site independently until 2008, when he began hiring his first employees to fill out a new Vancouver headquarters.
In 2015 Plenty of Fish was acquired by Match Group for $575 million and now calls former competitors Match.com, OKCupid, and Tinder, sister brands.
Match Group announced in early 2018 that Malgosia Green has been appointed Chief Executive Officer. Green founded and led various consumer and education tech companies in Toronto and was most recently the Chief Product Officer of Top Hat.
Today Plenty of Fish continued it’s evolution with the launch of a new look and logo.
At Plenty of Fish, we’re evolving, and so has our logo. Our new fish was designed using the iconic original, overlayed with concentric circles. Lots of colorful layers, just like you. The bright new colors reflect the welcoming, low-pressure dating environment we’ve always been and will continue to be. So dip your toes or dive right in, the journey is yours.
