Anandia Laboratories opened a new state-of-the-art cannabis testing headquarters in Vancouver today.
Voted the Top Testing Lab at the 2017 Canadian Cannabis Awards, Anandia provides the full suite of testing services required under Canada’s Cannabis Act for licensed production of cannabis, and also develops and offers a number of other tools that may be used by clients for breeding and product development.
Located on Great Northern Way, the new facility adds 12,600 square feet of laboratory space and approximately 40 new employees, bringing the total company headcount projection to approximately 100 by the end of 2019.
This represents a 700% total increase of Anandia’s Canadian footprint in the last year, enabling Anandia to scale with and service more Canadian licensed producers and cannabis patients and consumers.
“Anandia was established to provide the science and technical innovations that underpin the growing global cannabis industry. Our new headquarters accelerates and optimizes the work we do as we approach the next phase of cannabis legalization,” said Dr. John Coleman, PhD, Co-Founder and President of Anandia.
“We look forward to continuing to support a safe and trustworthy cannabis industry with more testing services on the cutting edge of cannabis science.”
The new facility is capable of performing 20 different tests on cannabis and cannabis products, including tests for 14 cannabinoids.
In 2018, Anandia was acquired by Aurora Cannabis for $115 million, which was a landmark deal not just for cannabis science, but for Canadian plant science companies as a whole.
