Tech Vancouver Tackles The Founder-VC Relationship

October 19, 2019 by Techcouver Newsdesk

Tech Vancouver helps the city’s technologists expand their knowledge and network in the community. Every month a set of highly curated leaders & innovators come together to share their expertise & experiences through panels and presentations.

This month Tech Vancouver tackles the The Founder-VC Relationship with a panel that includes Patrick Lor, Managing Partner at Panache Ventures, Andrew McLeod, Co-Founder and CEO of Certn, and Katherine Berry, Co-Founder & CPO at Allocadia.

Launched in 2018, Panache Ventures closed its inaugural fund at $58 million. The fund has already invested in 52 tech startups across Canada and is led by Managing Partners Patrick Lor and Mike Cegelski.

Vancouver’s Allocadia was founded by identical twin sisters Katherine Berry and Kristine Steuart in 2010. Allocadia has raised a total of $24 million in funding and was a finalist for the Company of the Year (Scale Success) at the 2019 BC Tech Association Awards.

Victoria’s Certn is a background screening platform that uses AI to predict applicant behaviors. Certn raised a $975,000 seed round last year that included Panache Ventures.

Tech Vancouver is on October 22nd at Roundhouse Community Arts and Recreation Centre. Register online to attend.
