According to Daily Hive’s Urbanized, Microsoft is increasing its corporate presence in Vancouver with a new office location in Gastown.
According to a new market update by NAI Commercial, the Redmond, WA headquartered behemoth will be taking over all 75,000 square feet of office space at the under-construction building at 155 Water Street.
Microsoft currently calls the Cadillac Fairview Pacific Centre building at 1111 West Georgia Street home, with 142,000 square feet above the Nordstrom department store.
Construction on the new seven-storey Gastown building—developed by Chip Wilson’s Low Tide Properties and designed by local architectural firm Musson Cattell Mackey Partnership—began last year.
Microsoft will occupy the top six floors while the ground level will be utilized as retail and restaurant space.
The new building, which incorporates and restores components of two heritage buildings on the development site, is scheduled for completion in 2020.
