Medimap is Canada’s largest online and mobile real-time resource for same-day access to care.
Across Canada, 70 per cent of all walk-in medical clinics are registered with Medimap and millions of patients rely on their service to look up wait times at walk-in medical clinics.
But as concerns regarding the COVID-19 health pandemic continue to rise, many clinics are reducing hours or have stopped accepting walk-in patients all together for the health and safety of their staff.
In response to this change of behaviour, Medimap has launched a new Virtual Care service that connects patients across B.C. with an available walk-in clinic doctor over secure video call.
Harnessing the secure messaging, audio, and video available through the Medimap platform, the telemedicine service will allow doctors to provide a variety of services – from COVID-19 advice to prescription refills – reducing the number of people who need to visit a doctor’s office or ER for healthcare during this critical period.
The virtual care service is free for patients with valid MSP coverage. Patients can access the service from a phone, tablet, or desktop computer. No download is required and the average wait to speak with a doctor is less than 10 minutes from the time you submit your request.
Vancouver’s Medimap was co-founded by Blake Adam and Jonathan Clark in 2015 and placed third in the 2018 New Venture BC Competition, winning the $35,000 Innovate BC prize package.
