The Digital Technology Supercluster is providing Food-X Technologies with an additional $2.6 million to enhance its eGrocery Management Solution (eGMS) for retailers to scale safe food delivery.
This new funding is ten times the initial amount raised for a feasibility study announced in April, allowing Food-X to continue leading the collaboration of prominent companies, including Microsoft, Adaptech, AltaML, ETG Consulting, Routific, OpsGuru and Spud.
At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Digital Technology Supercluster partnered with Food-X Technologies to rapidly develop foundational features of the eGrocery management system in order to support Canadian frontline workers.
The expansion of this project will further enhance the eGrocery SaaS solution functionality, empowering grocery retailers to effectively and efficiently manage the rapidly growing online demand, scale safe food delivery throughput and ultimately compete in the digital economy.
Food-X eGMS software-based tools help online grocery fulfillment center employees and e-commerce business managers effectively manage the day-to-day online grocery operations at scale. The solution seamlessly integrates with existing ERP systems, legacy grocery systems, warehouse automation and robotics allowing for a frictionless experience on the back end while increasing accessibility to a contactless, safe food delivery experience for consumers.
“Our Supercluster is proud to continue our partnership with Food-X Technologies during such a critical point in time for our society,” said Sue Paish, CEO of the Digital Technology Supercluster. “We look forward to the continued success of this project and the value it provides.”
“We are incredibly proud to continue our partnership with Digital Technology Supercluster to further our goal of providing retailers across the nation an end-to-end, scalable profitable solution to effectively manage operations,” said Food-X Technologies founder and Chief Executive Officer Peter van Stolk.
“The coronavirus pandemic has forever changed our world and we see a tremendous need for scaling around the need for convenience, local food transparency and sustainability. Our solution supports the changing consumer behavior by enabling retailers a proven response to meet the demand that this pandemic has created.”
