Netflix Launches Production Hub in Burnaby

September 24, 2020 by Robert Lewis

Netflix is making Burnaby its latest production hub with the a long-term lease on the Canadian Motion Picture Park (CMPP) studio complex.

CMPP is one of the largest and newest film production centers in North America with over 350,000 square feet of facilities including 18 stages.

According to Hollywood Reporter, Netflix intends to shoot an untitled Graham King project and the Midnight Mass TV series in this new location.  The lease includes seven sound stages and gives Netflix approximately 178,000 square feet of production space in addition to office and support space.

Netflix is not new to British Columbia. The streaming giant has used a host of Vancouver studio stages for productions in the past but this move consolidates their production at CMPP.

CMPP has already hosted film and TV shoots for Mission Impossible, Godzilla, Supernatural, A Million Little Things, Batwoman, World of Warcraft and Legends of Tomorrow.
