TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs) was founded in Silicon Valley in 1992 by successful entrepreneurs with roots in the Indus region (the Indian subcontinent). Since then TiE is spread over 72 chapters in 17 countries with over 20,000 Members.
The British Columbia Chapter of TiE has launched TiE Angels Vancouver, an investor forum that brings together promising early stage companies and exposes them to angel investors, serial entrepreneurs, high tech executives, and other professional investors.
To celebrate their Vancouver launch, TiE Angels is hosting its first Demo Day on November 18th with an invitation to all Canadian founders to take the opportunity to pitch to a select group of North American and International investors, get a chance to win $25,000 in prizes, and gain exposure to TiE Angels’ global network of investors.
“Our core focus at TiE Angels Vancouver is to give Canadian entrepreneurs access to a global network of active investors and introduce those investors to Canadian ingenuity and innovation” Maninder Dhaliwal, Founding Chair of TiE Angels Vancouver.
Twenty companies will be selected to pitch to a panel of judges to win prizes on Demo Day and the top 8 companies from Demo Day will get an opportunity to pitch to TiE Angels’ global network of investors.
