The Vancouver User Experience Awards is an opportunity for growing startups, freelance practitioners, agencies, and user-centric enterprises to showcase their work and get recognized for the incredible experiences they create every day.
This year’s Vancouver UX Awards finalists highlight the benefits of interactive media in health, sport and knowledge sharing. The five awards, including the Best UX for the ‘best in show’, will be presented November 26th in an online event.
UX innovation has been baked into the event, with sponsors hosting virtual ‘booths’ for attendees to visit. Jonas Altman, Founder of design practice agency social fabric, will deliver this year’s keynote speech on ‘curiosity and compassion as a design mindset’.
“Despite challenges faced this year, we’ve still received over 70 applications, 20 of which came from student teams.” says Anthony Hempell of The Vancouver UX Awards Society. “It’s often assumed that UX only relates to software and the IoT, but this year’s finalists have shown us that UX can impact and benefit almost any industry.”
“From a web-based interactive book demonstrating knowledge sharing across Indigenous groups and generations, to a voting experience allowing millions to vote for the 2020 NBA All-Star game teams, the power of UX is clear.”

“For our senior practitioners to partner with a student for the year ahead, sharing their experience, and building the students’ network through industry connections, that’s something really special we can offer.”
