The past year have been difficult for a lot of people, but in particular for the younger workforce.
Launch Academy is stepping up to help out.
Ray Walia & Launch Academy are giving away $100,000 worth of scholarships for their online Launch Your Startup program for up to 300 aspiring entrepreneurs who have found themselves unemployed or faced with reduced hours due to the pandemic and are ready to make a career change and start their own business but need training to learn how.
Set up as a non-profit in 2012, Launch Academy started as a simple idea: a few desks and a vision to get aspiring entrepreneurs out of their parent’s basement and into an environment around fellow entrepreneurs.
Nine years later, the tech hub has incubated over 6,000 entrepreneurs with 300 growing beyond seed stage and collectively raising over $1.2 billion.
“In the past year and a half, the world has simultaneously been in a state of constant change and come to a jarring halt. This has been a difficult time for a lot of people, but in particular for the younger workforce,” said Ray Walia, Co-Founder and CEO of Launch Academy.
“Fortunately, a few of these workers have started to explore entrepreneurship and are aspiring to launch their own startups. Launch Academy, which is for entrepreneurs by entrepreneurs, is stepping in to help.”
Launch Academy offers a variety of programs and resources for entrepreneurs including its Launch Your Startup program consisting of online sessions guided by a tried-and-tested startup growth roadmap framework, bringing together the best of the lean startup ecosystem and from entrepreneurial masters and practitioners.
Interesting fact: the course was created on the Thinkific platform, one of Canada’s newest Unicorn companies, which also happens to be an alumni of Launch Academy.
Launch Academy’s scholarships cover the USD $300 fee for the Launch Your Startup program and applications are now open.
