One year ago Vancouver’s Foodee announced they had acquired Chewse and secured a $13 million strategic financing round that included a mix of equity led by BDC Capital paired with debt.
Through their bridge financing program, BDC Capital matched funds raised by the companies’ existing investors, including Kensington Capital via the BC Tech Fund and Structure Capital as well as new investor, Foundry Group.
Today Foodee announced that they have been acquired by France’s Sodexo and that they are now a part of the food service provider’s corporate services division.
Founded in 2011 by Jon Cartwright and Ryan Spong, Foodee is a food concierge service that delivers meals from local restaurants to company boardrooms.
“We founded Foodee to help local restaurateurs feed innovative companies seeking to attract and retain great teams,” said Ryan Spong, CEO, Foodee.
“There is no better partner in food and corporate services than Sodexo to support our growth targets and extend our impact internationally and across sectors. Foodee’s off-premise delivery and menu-planning software strengthen Sodexo’s existing corporate offering and we look forward to bringing a broader suite of solutions to our shared clients.”
