Vancouver’s General Fusion has raised a USD $130 million Series E round from investors including billionaire Jeff Bezos to help develop a commercial reactor.
Backed by the Canadian, U.K., and U.S. governments, General Fusion is globally recognized for its practical and economical approach to creating fusion energy. Fusion is the only zero-carbon firm power solution that can address the world’s growing energy demand while fighting climate change.
General Fusion recently announced that it would relocate and expand its headquarters to Richmond to enable the earliest commercialization of its fusion technology.
The Series E round also included the Business Development Bank of Canada, the hedge fund Segra Capital Management and several family-office investors.
