Vancouver Startup Week (VSW) has cancelled its plans for what would have been its 9th annual event in May 2022.
“While the pandemic rages on globally, our dedicated team of volunteers have worked tirelessly to bring our community not one, but two virtual Vancouver Startup Weeks. Virtual events. Ugh. We’re tired of it. And we know you kind of are too. So with that being said, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel VSW2022,” wrote VSW co-chairs Vivian Chan & Katty Wang.
Last year VSW consisted of more than 50 virtual events including panels, hackathons and workshops are planned over the seven days.
The VSW team has decided that the next VSW will be in person but with uncertainty still surrounding COVID-19 they don’t believe they can realistically plan a great event.
