Vancouver-headquartered Article is setting up shop in the largest master-planned barge-to-rail industrial park in the United States.
The direct-to-consumer online furniture retailer is building a 507,000-square-foot warehouse (not pictured) in the Houston metro area that will be located at the TGS Cedar Port Industrial Park.
Since its launch in 2013, Article has delivered more than 1 million orders across North America. The new warehouse will allow Article to take advantage of its location near several highways and ports with access to the area’s abundant, cost-effective labor.
“We are pleased to embark on this build-to-suit project with Article,” said James Scott, TGS Cedar Port Partners president.
“The ability to partner with a company with Article’s reputation for redefining the online furniture business makes it more consequential for all parties involved.”
Home Depot, Ikea and Walmart also have major distribution and fulfillment centers in the Cedar Port Industrial Park.
Led by CEO Aamir Baig, Article placed 159th on the Globe and Mail’s list of Canada’s Top Growing companies last year with 3-year revenue growth of 272% and revenue in the range of $250-500 million. Article currently employs 1,300+.
