Microsoft is adding a new location to its growing collection of office space in Vancouver.
Sources informed Daily Hive’s Urbanized that the tech titan is planning not just any office, but a big one: Microsoft will take hold of the future Bentall 6 office tower on West Pender Street near the Burrard SkyTrain Station.
Techcouver has confirmed that the location will be Microsoft’s largest single office location in Vancouver, occupying over 500,000 square feet across all but three of the ambitious skyscraper’s 33 floors.
The new building, first started in 2019, is expected to be finished within the first half of 2023. B6 developer BentallGreenOak noted during the project’s design and planning phase that the tower’s sizeable floor plates would be suitable for major tech firms.
In 2019 WeWork snapped up 180,000 square feet across 10 floors of the B6 development but it appears that Microsoft has co-opted their space in hopes of securing the entire building.
Microsoft currently leases over 400,000 square feet across three (or four) locations in Vancouver.
The company has not officially commented on the news as of yet, so it is not clear if they will be consolidating their existing offices into B6 or if this will be additional office space for Microsoft.
Microsoft says
