Vancouver’s MintList Wins Software Award for ‘Tech Startup of the Year’

August 16, 2022 by Knowlton Thomas Leave a Comment

MintList has won a Stevie Award for Tech Startup of the Year in the Software category, marking the first Canadian company to win this award, now in its 19th annual edition.

Unlike competitors Canada Drives and Clutch, MintList does not have any inventory. They have over half a billion dollars of cars waitlisted on their marketplace. That’s ten times the inventory of Canada Drives and Clutch combined.

“It is extremely gratifying to be the first Canadian company to win this award in this category,” stated Mike Wood, cofounder and CEO of MintList. “MintList simplifies the vehicle buying and selling process and reduces risk, putting the control back into consumers hands.”

Wood says his startup’s technology “is a welcome change from the traditionally frustrating process of buying or selling a car, and our record growth is proof that consumers want this.”

Judges said MintList is “disrupting an existing industry with cutting-edge and highly scalable technology,” and has developed an “original and innovative platform for selling cars between consumers and dealers.”

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to receive this great honour,” said Mehrsa Raeiszadeh, cofounder and COO of MintList. “Our technology, drive, and determination to succeed is unmatched, and I believe this award is an early indicator of what’s to come.”

MintList will be among the winners celebrated during a gala banquet at the InterContinental London Park Lane Hotel, in England October 15—the first live IBA awards ceremony since 2019.

The BC startup secured seed capital earlier this year and counts investors such as Vancouver-based Little Green Bamboo among its backers.
