Last year, Streamline Athletes acquired The Stride Report, a site that provides NCAA track/cross-country rankings, projections, and analysis.
The acquisition by Vancouver-based Streamline, an online sports recruiting platform focused on track and field, was a win-win for both companies.
“No one covers collegiate distance running to the standard that The Stride Report does and we can’t wait to see Garrett accelerate his analysis under the Streamline Athletes banner,” Brett Montrose, cofounder and co-CEO at Streamline Athletes, stated in December.
“This acquisition is everything that we’ve been working towards at The Stride Report,” added Stride founder and editor-in-chief Garrett Zatlin, who moved into a full-time role.
Founded by former collegiate track and field athletes, Streamline Athletes is a data-driven sports recruitment platform that democratizes access to education and sport for student-athletes while also providing collegiate coaches with a more efficient recruitment process.
Building on this momentum, the New Ventures BC Competition alumnus has now partnered with Louisiana-based Matchpoint Connection to bring NIL deals to track and field student-athletes.
“Our mission at Streamline Athletes is about removing barriers faced by student-athletes,” says Montrose. “By collaborating with Matchpoint, we’ll be able to bring NIL deals to student-athletes and brands in sports that are typically underrepresented in the collegiate landscape.”
In 2021, college athletes began signing endorsement deals under the NCAA’s new name, image, and likeness (NIL) rules. The partnership between collegiate sports recruitment company Streamline Athletes and NIL deal platform Matchpoint will make NIL opportunities more accessible for cross country and track and field student-athletes.
“Matchpoint is the ideal partner for this undertaking; their platform has already facilitated hundreds of deals, including some big-money endorsements,” believes Montrose. “But most importantly, the Matchpoint platform allows the athletes to source deals with brands they align with, whereas other NIL platforms do not.”
“Streamline Athletes is committed to the long-term development of the holistic student-athlete,” adds cofounder Alex Paré. “Our focus is on NIL deals with responsible brands and educating student-athletes on the complexities of the NIL era of college sports.”
According to Paré, the partnership with Matchpoint is but the tip of an iceberg.
Streamline Athletes’ states that other partnerships yet to be announced will combine to “form a carefully curated suite of resources that, in addition to Streamline Athletes’ recruitment products [and] services, will support student-athlete development with a 360-degree view.”
