Vancouver’s Jack Newton has been named one of the Most Exceptional Entrepreneurs of 2022 by Goldman Sachs.
The Clio co-founder was recognized by the investment bank at its Builders and Innovators Summit in Healdsburg, California.
The Goldman Sachs Awards celebrates rising entrepreneurs and seasoned business leaders building enduring companies that reshape industries and drive progress through innovation.
Under Newton’s leadership, Clio made history as the first legal practice management unicorn globally with a valuation of USD $1.6 billion.
The Vancouver-born company has since attained Centaur status, a title reserved for private SaaS companies that achieve more than USD $100 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR). Approximately 150 companies globally have passed this threshold, making this designation seven times rarer than the tech unicorn.
“I’m honored to be recognized by Goldman Sachs alongside other visionary entrepreneurs who are driving their respective industries forward in exciting and innovative ways,” said Newton.
“By putting our customers and their clients front-and-center in everything we do, we are realizing our mission to transform the legal experience for all. This award represents Clio’s ability to foster advancements in legal services in technology, driving positive social change and creating a more inclusive legal system.”
Newton is the author of The Client-Centered Law Firm, a #1 bestseller helping law firms thrive in today’s client-driven era, and was named Person of the Year at BC Tech’s 2020 Technology Impact Awards.
