Data Integration Pioneer Safe Software Refreshes Brand with Bold Target for Growth

April 13, 2023 by Knowlton Thomas Leave a Comment

While working on a geospatial forestry data sharing project in British Columbia in the early 90s, Don Murray and Dale Lutz saw firsthand a challenge to be solved.

There was an emerging need to exchange data across different systems and organizations, they observed. And while the problem existed, they noticed a solution didn’t. In response, Murray and Lutz cofounded Safe Software in 1993.

Now, Safe is reimagining itself after three decades of profitable business.

The Surrey-based pioneer of data integration for enterprises has revitalized its brand in 2023 following strong revenue numbers, as the Canadian company enters a new chapter.

“Our new look embodies Safe Software’s ethos and demonstrates the company’s unwavering commitment to assist the world in its pursuit of harnessing the power of data,” stated Murray, Co-CEO.

The privately owned Safe Software achieved $70 million in revenue in 2022 and is on target to achieve $90 million in revenue in 2023, according to a statement from Safe. The firm says it has “no shortage of growth plans and a goal to more than triple revenue in the next five years.”

“Our new brand is an important step forward as we strive to triple our revenue in the coming years,” he said.

The thoroughly refreshed brand highlights the BC firm’s flagship product, the Feature Manipulation Engine—the “only data integration platform with true support for spatial data.” With FME’s “powerful tools, users can process and convert data, seamlessly creating workflows that extend the reach of data integration,” according to a statement.

A new FME logo represents the platform, its relationship to Safe Software, and the infinite possibilities FME provides its users, Murray notes.

Lutz agrees, believing that the Feature Manipulation Engine has evolved into a unique platform and is confident that no other solution competes with its no-code, deploy-anywhere capabilities.

“The brand showcases our passion for spatial data and our dedication to using innovation to provide ever increasing value to our customers,” he said. “Our latest product updates in FME:23 will enable Safe Software to continue delivering our mission and allow our technology to remain at the forefront of our industry.”

Earlier this year, Safe was named a Customers’ Choice by Gartner Peer Insights for the Data Integration Tools category.

Safe Software’s technology is leveraged by 200,000 users across 25,000 organizations worldwide.
