White-label digital asset platform ethos today announced the launch of its Gated Experiences feature, starting with Gated Content.
Ethos is on a mission to accelerate the Canada’s adoption of digital assets such as NFTs by facilitating experiences for brands and their customers.
In March, they made it easier than ever to display NFTs on devices.
Ethos has a vision to make digital assets “a frictionless experience and one that anyone can enjoy.”
“We want to lower the barriers for customers engaging with digital assets,” stated Matias Marquez, CEO.
The startup looks to create value-add along the crypto chain through “Added utility” for brands to leverage—which can include discounts, air drops, early access, or special products.
Features are “completely white labelled allowing for brand consistency.”
This includes the new Gated Experience, which allows for exclusive access to something (e.g., content, a game, e-commerce) with a digital asset.
Brands using the ethos platform to offer digital assets now have the option of adding Gated Content as a benefit for customers, says Marquez.
“We continue to build features that make the benefits of web3 accessible to everyone, removing barriers while adding real value for brands,” he stated this week.
“Our utility-first platform unlocks a new world of customer connectivity for brands, and we are excited that Gated Content is the first step in our buildout of Gated Experiences,” added Marquez.
The first portion of the Gated Experiences feature is Gated Content, which allows brands to enable special access to videos, podcasts, or written content to holders of digital assets.
In this sense, ethos aims to blend “real-world utility” into digital assets to make NFTs “more than an image.”
Token-gated commerce, as it has been referred to, “offers a fundamentally new way to deepen connections and reward true fans and VIPs by giving NFT holders exclusive access to products, perks, and experiences,” according to e-commerce pioneer Shopify in 2022. “The most exciting experience isn’t selling NFTs—but activating them.”
“The real beauty behind an NFT launch,” agrees ethos, “is that it enables businesses to unlock new value.”
It’s a new, uncharted avenue for growth.
Ethos predicts that “NFT holders are lifetime clients,” with such loyally devoted fans feeling like something of a stakeholder in a brand while holding some of their official digital assets.
