After recently celebrating its 15th birthday, legal technology company Clio announced a notable change in its executive leadership this week.
Technology product leader Hemant Kashyap has joined the Vancouver-based firm as their new Chief Product Officer.
Kashyap’s responsibilities will include directing Clio’s product strategy, development, and execution, including the company’s expansive app integration ecosystem, according to a statement from the legal-tech pioneer.
Kashyap is known for aligning customer needs with product opportunities, which is a key part of maintaining Clio’s global standing in the legal tech industry. Prior to joining Clio, Kashyap held key leadership positions at ServiceTitan and Inspire Clean Energy.
With more than two decades of experience in developing business strategies and product roadmaps, he has a record of designing, building, and commercializing consumer and enterprise products. Expressing his thoughts on the new role, Kashyap reiterated the importance of Clio’s mission to transform the legal experience.
“Clio’s mission of transforming the legal experience for all is a critically important one,” he stated. “I’m thrilled to join the company and continue to drive that mission forward with the products we offer and markets we operate in.”
Kashyap shared his excitement about being part of the company during what he describes as a “formative era” for the BC firm.
“This is a formative era for Clio, and I am confident that we can continue to develop and deliver world-class products for legal professionals,” he said. “I look forward to working with Jack and the broader team.”
In his role as Chief Product Officer, Kashyap will manage all aspects of Clio’s product design and delivery. His tasks will include setting short-term and long-term product visions, strategies, and roadmaps. He will also oversee the expansion of Clio’s product line, launching and fostering new products for the legal industry.
“I am incredibly delighted to welcome Hemant Kashyap to Clio as our Chief Product Officer,” stated Jack Newton, CEO and Founder of Clio. “With his visionary thinking and proven track record, we are poised to reach new heights with our product and to push the boundaries of what’s possible in legal technology.”
“Hemant’s passion for customer success aligns perfectly with our company’s core values, and I am truly excited about the incredible impact we will have with his leadership,” Newton added.
Clio is a major player in the development of cloud-based technologies for law firms, aiming to enhance connections between lawyers and their clients throughout the legal process. Following significant investment rounds, Clio recently became the first legal practice management unicorn in the world. The company’s products are utilized by law firms of varying sizes to manage operations, streamline billing and payments, automate legal documents, and improve client experiences.
