Startups need capital to grow, however the process of raising venture capital is often long, arduous, and complex; and even more so with the current economic climate.
Despite a challenging economic environment and reports of struggling startups, many Vancouver startups still managed to raise much needed capital in 2023.
Kick off the new year with advice from five entrepreneurs that have had success raising money for their startup ventures at Raising VC in 2024. At this evening event, they’ll share practical lessons on fundraising that every entrepreneur should know.
Among the panelists at Raising VC in 2024 are Allocadia co-founder Kristine Steuart, Durable co-founder James Clift, MintList co-founder Mehrsa Raeiszadeh, Dyne Technologies founder Arnav Mishra, and Withe co-founder Daniel Shalinsky.
Durable was most recently making headlines with a $14 million in Series A funding round earlier this month. The Vancouver-based AI-powered website builder platform was named one of ten Homegrown B.C. Startups to Watch in 2023 and has built over six million websites in just one year.
Moderated by Mind Meld PR’s Jonathan Narvey, panelists will dig into what’s changed in venture over the past year and share insights from recent Vancouver funding rounds. They’ll also share practical steps founders took to raise their most recent round and the biggest mistakes entrepreneurs can make when starting the fundraising process.
Raising VC in 2024 takes place on Wednesday, January 17th from 5-7pm. Hosted at TTT Studios at 777 Dunsmuir Street, this event is sponsored by Floorspace, Mind Meld PR, GetFresh Ventures, DevEngine, and Segev LLP.
