In the spirit of The Hard Thing About Hard Things, Startups & F*ck Ups: A Conversation on the Hard Parts of Venture Building is a talk about the tough, challenging, and downright difficult parts of scaling startups.
Hosted by entrepreneurship@UBC, a panel of tech veterans will reveal the lessons they’ve learned through the hardest parts of scaling a company – pivots, hiring/firing, layoffs, mistakes, botched product launches, and more.
Among the panelists are Laurie Schulz (ex-Galvanize), Felicia Bochicchio (ex-Unbounce), Josh Nilson (ex-East Side Games), and Jayesh Parmar (ex-Picatic).
Panelists will address differentiating between critical mistakes and minor mess-ups, navigating the decision to cut your losses on a bad idea, and communicating difficult news (like layoffs).
Startups & F*ck Ups: A Conversation on the Hard Parts of Venture Building takes place on Tuesday, March 19th from 5-7pm. Hosted at entrepreneurship@UBC’s Robson Square location, this event is sponsored by Coho Growth, Segev LLP, DevEngine, Easly, and TD Securities.
