OneRail, a leading last-mile delivery fulfillment provider with a network of 12 million drivers across North America, has announced its acquisition of Vancouver-based Orderbot.
This strategic move aims to revolutionize the fulfillment landscape by combining Orderbot’s advanced inventory and Distributed Order Management (DOM) solutions with OneRail’s OmniPoint® cloud-based operating system.
Orderbot, known for serving market leaders like Staples Canada, Petsense, and Red Hat, brings sophisticated order and inventory management capabilities to OneRail’s extensive delivery platform. Together, the companies promise a powerful end-to-end solution designed to streamline fulfillment, reduce costs, improve order accuracy, and enhance customer satisfaction.
“Retailers and product distributors face a universal challenge: identifying the optimal fulfillment location to minimize costs and maximize order accuracy,” said Bill Catania, Founder and CEO of OneRail. “Integrating Orderbot into OneRail provides our clients with a unified solution that optimizes every step of the fulfillment process, whether it’s shipping eCommerce orders from a warehouse or enabling localized deliveries and in-store pickups.”
The new solution is expected to significantly reduce out-of-stocks, split orders, and late deliveries while enhancing visibility across the fulfillment process, from shelf to doorstep. This integration addresses critical challenges in the rapidly evolving omnichannel retail market, projected to reach $37 trillion by 2027, with online sales comprising 24% of global retail.
OneRail’s acquisition of Orderbot marks a step forward in empowering shippers with the tools to seamlessly manage complex fulfillment processes. “This acquisition is a critical next step for OneRail as we move upstream in the order flow,” Catania added.
Retailers leveraging omnichannel strategies are 2.5 times more likely to retain customers and enjoy a 13% increase in average order value, making this collaboration a timely enhancement for businesses navigating the complexities of modern retail.
