As the B.C.-born real estate investing platform approaches 50 opportunities since launching in 2018, addy Technology this week introduced a new product on the platform.
Addy recently announced that Scott McGillivray Real Estate Trust II has joined the platform and has licenced the addy platform as an Issuer.
The move “marks a groundbreaking moment” for addy, according to the company, providing Canadians with “unprecedented access” to invest alongside professional real estate experts.
The Scott McGillivray Real Estate Trust II will invest in the Scott McGillivray Real Estate Fund II, which as the name suggests is spearheaded by television personality Scott McGillivray.
“We are excited to partner with addy and leverage their innovative platform to enable Canadians to invest alongside us,” stated McGillivray.
The collaboration underscores a “commitment of both parties to democratize real estate investing,” according to a statement from addy, breaking down barriers that have historically restricted access to institutional-grade commercial real estate investments to wealthy individuals.
“This partnership represents a significant step in our mission to make real estate investment opportunities accessible to everyone, regardless of their financial standing,” McGillivray said. “By joining the addy platform, we are empowering everyday investors with the option to participate in high-quality real estate deals that were previously out of reach.”
The Trust will utilize addy’s new business-oriented software to manage and raise capital for real estate opportunities.
With the addy Business software, the $50,000 investment minimum is reduced to $1. The software also reduces the complexity and costs associated with managing a large investor base by automating client communications, capital distributions, and financial reporting.
“We are continuously looking for new ways to unlock access to real estate investing opportunities,” explains addy cofounder Stephen Jagger, “and the addition of Scott McGillivray Real Estate Trust II to our platform is a testament to this commitment.”
“This fund represents a new product offering and yet another way we are breaking down barriers to make real estate investing accessible to all Canadians,” Jagger continued.
McGillivray has been an HGTV star in Canada for 15 years, appearing in over 300 episodes of television shows such as “Income Property,” “Moving the McGillivrays,” and “Buyers Bootcamp.”
“We are proud to have Scott McGillivray and his team using our software,” said Jagger.
