Clarius Mobile Health, maker of high-definition handheld ultrasound technology, unveiled new ultrasound innovations this week, including enterprise software designed to manage a fleet of ultrasound scanners, as well as tools powered by artificial intelligence.
Available immediately, the updated Clarius ultrasound app improves workflow, streamlines billing, and makes handheld ultrasound easier to learn and use, according to a statement from the Vancouver company.
“We’re especially excited to introduce the Clarius Enterprise Software Solution tailored to meet the needs of our growing base of large healthcare institutions that are managing the use of multiple Clarius scanners,” stated Clarius chief executive officer Ohad Arazi.
“This latest software release, which includes so many unique features, clearly demonstrates the limitless ability of our R&D team to deliver ground-breaking innovations across multiple clinical segments in ultrasound,” the CEO continued.
Clarius’ range of AI-powered specialty ultrasound scanners provide high-definition imaging for multiple clinical applications, Arazi says. Designed for novice ultrasound users, T-Mode for example provides real-time guidance with AI-powered coloured and textured anatomical overlays to enhance learning of ultrasound grey scale images. And A-Mode enables ophthalmologists to use Clarius ultrasound to measure the axial length of the eye to help with diagnosis and monitoring of conditions such as myopia, hyperopia, and cataracts.
In 2023, Clarius received $5 million through InBC Investment, a strategic investment fund created by the Province of British Columbia.
And last year, the Government of Canada followed that up with another $3.4M through the Pacific Economic Development Agency of Canada’s Business Scale-Up and Productivity program.
Also in 2024, the firm was recognized as one the World’s Most Innovative Companies by Fast Company.
“We push the limits of innovation every day at Clarius to improve access to medical imaging for all,” Arazi stated at the time of the honour.
