Foresight Announces Finalists for 2025 BC Cleantech Awards

Foresight Canada has unveiled the finalists for the 2025 BC Cleantech Awards, recognizing companies and individuals driving innovation in British Columbia’s clean technology sector.

The annual awards celebrate achievements across multiple categories, with the Scaleup and Startup awards highlighting some of the province’s most promising cleantech ventures.

The Scaleup Venture of the Year award recognizes high-growth cleantech companies that have demonstrated significant market traction and impact. Among this year’s finalists are:

  • Arbios Biotech – A leader in biomass conversion technology, creating renewable biofuels from waste materials.
  • Lucent Bio – A Vancouver-based company developing sustainable crop nutrition solutions to improve soil health and reduce environmental impact.
  • Mangrove Lithium – A clean technology firm specializing in lithium refining for battery applications, advancing the supply chain for electrification.
  • Moment Energy – A Vancouver-based company repurposing retired electric vehicle batteries for energy storage solutions.
  • pH7 Technologies – A sustainable mining company developing innovative solutions for extracting critical minerals with minimal environmental impact.

In the Startup Venture of the Year category, Foresight is recognizing early-stage cleantech innovators with strong potential for impact. The finalists include:

  • Green Manganese – A company focused on sustainable manganese production for battery and energy storage applications.
  • Lite-1 – A startup developing advanced energy-efficient lighting technologies to reduce power consumption.
  • SkyAcres – An agri-tech firm leveraging vertical farming innovations to enhance food security and sustainability.
  • TreeTrack – A startup using data-driven solutions to optimize forestry management and conservation efforts.
  • veritree – A company leveraging technology to enable large-scale ecosystem restoration through verified tree planting initiatives.

“British Columbia continues to lead in cleantech innovation, and this year’s finalists exemplify the groundbreaking work happening in the province,” said Foresight Canada CEO Jeanette Jackson. “These companies are tackling critical climate challenges and positioning BC as a global leader in sustainability.”

Winners of the 2025 BC Cleantech Awards will be announced in-person on March 26, 2025 in Vancouver. The awards program is part of Foresight’s broader mission to accelerate the growth of Canada’s cleantech sector by supporting innovators, investors, and policymakers.
