Richmond-based logistics firm UniUni has acquired and fully integrated Toronto’s Shippie in a strategic move to accelerate same- and next-day delivery capabilities across North America.
The acquisition brings together UniUni’s robust delivery infrastructure and cutting-edge logistics technology with Shippie’s regional expertise and agile local operations. The combined entity aims to enhance service capacity for e-commerce brands and expand UniUni’s reach in key urban markets.
“With the acquisition of Shippie, we’re not only expanding our network—we’re bringing in a talented, ambitious team that aligns with our vision,” said Peter Lu, Co-founder and CEO of UniUni. “This is about building a lasting, innovative ecosystem that shapes the future of logistics.”
Shippie’s CEO Jax Zheng will join UniUni as Director of Strategic Partnerships, where he’ll focus on scaling through new industry collaborations. Zheng noted that both companies share a strong culture of innovation and a drive to set new standards in last-mile delivery.
“By combining our local business integration technology and same-day, next-day expertise with UniUni’s advanced logistics network, we’re unlocking new opportunities for efficiency and better service for Canadian and U.S. e-commerce brands,” said Zheng.
Founded in Richmond, UniUni has emerged as a major player in Canada’s rapidly evolving logistics sector, offering cost-effective and fast delivery solutions.
Last year UniUni was fourth on Deloitte Canada’s Technology Fast 50 list with revenue growth of 12,854% between 2020 and 2023. The logistics company also added USD $30 million to an oversubscribed Series C2 financing round led by Bessemer Venture Partners.
