Vancouver-based cybersecurity firm INETCO has announced the appointment of Eric Byres, a globally recognized expert in Operational Technology (OT) security and software supply chain risk management, to its Board of Directors.
Byres, a P.Eng. and ISA Fellow, brings decades of experience in cybersecurity innovation and entrepreneurial leadership to INETCO at a critical juncture in the company’s expansion. His appointment comes as INETCO accelerates the global adoption of its patented BullzAI transaction firewall—a real-time fraud prevention platform that is redefining how financial institutions block payment fraud and cyber threats.
“Eric’s strategic perspective and track record of turning visionary ideas into transformative technologies will be instrumental in shaping INETCO’s continued growth and innovation,” said Bijan Sanii, CEO and Founder of INETCO. “His entrepreneurial mindset and expertise in OT cybersecurity will be invaluable as we continue to scale and lead in payment fraud prevention.”
Currently a Senior Partner at ICS Secure Ltd., Byres was formerly Senior Vice President at Exiger LLC, following Exiger’s acquisition of aDolus Technology—a company he founded and led to deliver award-winning supply chain risk detection tools used by industry leaders including Honeywell, Meta, and Caterpillar.

He is perhaps best known for creating the Tofino Industrial Security Solution, the world’s most widely deployed OT-specific firewall, and has advised governments and standards bodies worldwide. Byres has testified before the U.S. Congress, co-authored leading cybersecurity standards, and received the ISA Excellence in Leadership Award for his contributions to the field.
“I’m honored to join the INETCO Board and contribute to a company that’s not just keeping pace with the future of cybersecurity—but actively shaping it,” said Byres. “INETCO’s transaction firewall is a game-changer in payment security, and I see tremendous opportunity to build on that innovation.”
Byres’ appointment strengthens INETCO’s leadership bench as the company expands its global reach and reaffirms its mission to deliver trusted, future-ready cybersecurity solutions to financial institutions and payment processors worldwide.
