Prairie-born investor community Startup TNT is bringing its high-energy investment showdown back to Vancouver this spring.
The Finale Night of its BC Summit XI will headline the opening reception of Vancouver Startup Week (VSW) on Monday, May 20th, at the iconic Science World.
The event will spotlight five early-stage startups from British Columbia competing for an investment pool of over $150,000. It marks Startup TNT’s second summit in the province, following the success of its inaugural BC Summit last fall.
“The BC Summit XI Finale Night presents a unique opportunity to highlight the promising ventures emerging from BC,” said Richard K. Miller, BC Summit Lead at Startup TNT. “We’re excited to partner with Vancouver Startup Week to provide these founders with a platform to gain exposure and potential investment.”
Startup TNT, founded in Alberta, is known for its inclusive, community-driven approach to startup investing. Since 2020, it has hosted more than 40 summits, rallied over 500 angel investors, and invested upwards of $17 million into Canadian startups. Each summit culminates in a live pitch finale where local investors vote with their wallets.
This spring’s finale will serve as the official launch of Vancouver Startup Week, an annual celebration of innovation, connection, and collaboration. Chaired by Vivian Lago and Katty Wang, VSW offers a packed week of panels, workshops, and networking events aimed at bolstering the local startup ecosystem.
“The VSW Opening Reception, featuring the Startup TNT Finale Night, will set the stage for a week of valuable connections and insights,” said Wang and Lago in a joint statement. “This partnership highlights the collaborative spirit that drives our community.”
Last November, French-inspired Atome Bakery (pictured) took top honours at Startup TNT’s first BC Summit, winning a $100,000 investment to expand its frozen sourdough bread delivery service across BC and Alberta.
The May 20th event at Science World promises another exciting night of pitches, investor engagement, and celebration of BC’s startup scene.
