A company based on Vancouver Island is on “a mission to enhance seniors’ quality of life” through technological applications.
Salyx Medical, established in Victoria in 2021, is a startup behind a wearable medical device.
The small, sleek device targets seniors and retirement homes with its tracking tech, which monitors vital signs such as heart rate, breathing rate, oxygen level, blood pressure, and body temperature.
The patent-pending wearable connects to a mobile app that provides alerts based on the device’s data readings.
“Our smart solution empowers a healthier lifestyle by seamlessly integrating wellness into your daily life, connecting you with the support of loved ones and healthcare professionals,” reads a statement from the company’s website. “With just a few taps, you can effortlessly view your vitals, providing a continuous, real-time snapshot of your well-being.”
Salyx was recently named to Douglas magazine’s “10 to Watch.”
Established in 2006 by Page One Publishing, Douglas is a business magazine and media brand based on Vancouver Island.
Now in their 16th year, the 10 to Watch Awards annually celebrate regional startups.
