Vancouver is set to host its first-ever Digital First Canada (DFC) Summit on April 25th at TELUS Garden, marking the West Coast debut of a fast-growing creator-focused event series that originated in Toronto.
Backed by the team behind Buffer Festival, the DFC Summit is designed to connect Canadian creators, leading platforms, and top brands in one of the country’s fastest-growing creative economies.
As Vancouver cements its reputation not only in film and TV, but also in gaming, AR/VR, and content creation, the Summit aims to foster meaningful collaboration in the expanding creator landscape.
”We’re excited to feature a lineup of leading digital first creators from British Columbia, which as a province, is a key player in the global creative economy,” says Scott Benzie, Executive Director, Digital First Canada and CEO, Buffer Festival, which produces the DFC Summits.
“With an attractive mix of artistic and technical talent, B.C. creators produce award-winning content enjoyed by global audiences.”
Attendees can expect a full day of programming that includes:
- Panels on monetization, AI in content creation, and creator-led business models
- Keynotes and appearances from top creators such as Mia Plays, Kristie Smith, and Morghan Fortier—the force behind Super Simple Songs, a YouTube channel with over 50 million subscribers
- Industry insights from tech leaders like Andrew Peterson of YouTube Canada and Norissa Samuels of Snapchat Canada
The Vancouver edition of the DFC Summit comes on the heels of Mia Plays opening a creator studio in North Vancouver, further signaling the city’s momentum in the global creator economy.
