Innovation UBC is set to host its annual Investor Showcase on Tuesday, May 13, highlighting 17 emerging companies at the UBC Robson Square. This year’s event will spotlight a diverse range of ventures, industry sectors, and founders, all aiming to deliver solutions with real-world impact.
Among the presenters are three alumni ventures — Incisive Ventures, Nanozen, and UVX Inc. — each returning to share updates on their scaling journeys. These alumni have also participated in Road to Web Summit activities as they gear up for the inaugural Web Summit Vancouver.
Recognized as one of the world’s top 40 universities, the UBC continues to be a catalyst for innovation, advancing research from the lab into global markets. Innovation UBC plays a pivotal role in this transformation, providing researchers with the support and resources needed to translate discoveries into startups that deliver social, health, economic, and environmental benefits.
The companies taking the stage have undergone rigorous training and mentorship to help them navigate the uncertainties of entrepreneurship, from building networks and establishing market traction to securing critical investment. Organizers emphasize the vital role investors play in the early stages of venture building and credit the strength of UBC’s innovation ecosystem for championing these founders as they move forward.
The 2025 Innovation UBC Investor Showcase promises to be a celebration of entrepreneurial ambition — and a glimpse into the future of innovation coming out of one of Canada’s leading research institutions.
