CIX has announced the recipients of its 2026 Startup Awards, recognizing 14 Canadian companies selected from more than 370 applicants and vetted by 94 leading North American investors.
Spanning Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, and Calgary, the cohort reflects the breadth of Canada’s innovation economy, with startups tackling challenges across healthtech, climate, defence, fintech, and martech.
More than 75 percent of the companies have female founders or C-suite executives, while over half are impact-driven ventures.
Among the Growth category recipients is Vancouver-based Hiive.
Founded in B.C., Hiive operates a marketplace for buying and selling shares in privately held, venture-backed companies. The platform enables accredited investors and funds to place buy and sell orders directly with counterparties, automating and centralizing processes that are traditionally handled through broker-led secondary transactions.

Following a capital raise in late 2023, Hiive recently surpassed $1 billion in completed private-market transactions. The fintech was also named Scale Company of the Year at the 2025 Technology Impact Awards.
Hiive will present live at the CIX Summit on March 25, 2026, in Toronto.
