The University of British Columbia is renowned for the entrepreneurial spirit of its student body and faculty, who regularly churn out startups through programs such as entrepreneurship@UBC, which promises participants a “venture-centric journey” as future founders explore opportunities to innovate.
This month, UBC will highlight several teams at its 2022 Venture Showcase.
“As one of the top 40 research universities in the world, UBC attracts global leaders who are leveraging their insights and discoveries to solve some of the most pressing problems we are facing today across climate, human health, and social impact,” the school says. “Join us at the 2022 Venture Showcase to meet entrepreneurs from our community who are set to be the next generation of leaders in impact and innovation.”
The Venture Showcase features teams across UBC’s entrepreneurial pipeline: from up-and-coming “Ones-to-Watch” at the outset of their journeys in incubation; “Sneak-a-Peek” ventures who are in the middle of commercialization; and “Ready-to-Raise” HATCH Venture Builder teams gaining traction at the acceleration stage.
Last year saw well over 300 attendees including funders, industry partners, academic collaborators, and community members.
This year’s event takes place on November 23 at UBC Robson Square, as well as online.
