BEACN Wizardry & Magic is creating an ecosystem of content creator peripherals, particularly within the audio realm, and earning accolades for their efforts.
Among Beacn’s products is what the company describes as “the world’s most advanced USB-C microphone.”
RedShark reviewer Simon Wyndham recently concluded the mic “sounds exceptionally good” while an accompanying app supplies a “huge amount of realtime recording flexibility.”
“It’s the first to feature real-time adaptive noise suppression combined with studio quality sound,” adds Craig Fraser, chief executive of Beacn. “That means even when screaming, a streamer’s voice comes out crisp and clear.”
CGM Tech Online Magazine ranked it the Best Microphone of 2023, standing out for “being a mixer and being it’s own processor without sacrificing a bit of sound quality.”
The Victoria-based startup, which is listed on the TSX Venture Exchange as BECN, says it creates technology “from the ground up,” combing hardware and software into solutions for gamers, podcasters, and other content creators seeking to produce studio-quality material.
This includes Beacn Mix, an accessible audio controller for Windows.
“We collect all of your audio sources and make them easily assignable to a knob, so control of your audio is right at your fingertips,” the startup explains online. “The best part? BEACN Mix works with any hardware that shows up in Windows, so you can keep using all of your favourite gear.”
Beacn is proudly Canadian, working hard “to use local and reputable partners for the production” of its products.
“We aren’t just headquartered in Canada,” the startup says. “BEACN Mix and BEACN Mix Create are designed and assembled in Canada too.”
Mix Create is an inventive mixer with streamer-specific features, a premium upgrade on the basic Beacn Mix.
“Creators can have all of their favourite features right at the tip of their fingers, no matter what audio setup they are using,” Beacn notes.
Described as “a tool that should find its way into the hands of every content creator out there,” Mix Create won CGMagazine’s Best Audio Solution 2023.
“Many wonderful people worked on BEACN Mic and BEACN Mix Create, helping to bring these fantastic products to fruition,” said Fraser in February, adding that “there’s lots more to come.”
