Vancouver’s Cheryl Maitland Muir is joining DIGITAL, Canada’s Global Innovation Cluster, as the new Vice President of Communications and Public Affairs.
The appointment will allow DIGITAL to leverage Cheryl’s expertise to drive forward their mission while creating value for their stakeholders.
Cheryl brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously served as Senior Vice President and Interim CEO of the Business Council of British Columbia (BCBC).
“Cheryl’s appointment comes at a pivotal time for DIGITAL as we continue to expand and drive Canadian made technology and innovation across the globe.” said CEO Sue Paish. “Her extensive experience and strategic approach to communications and public affairs will be instrumental in advancing our mission.”
During her tenure at BCBC, Cheryl led the organization’s public affairs, communications, and events activities, working closely with members and partners to advance a variety of initiatives including the Cascadia Innovation Corridor, which connects innovators, researchers, and leaders in the Pacific Northwest.
“Throughout my career, I’ve been privileged to witness the transformative power of effective communication and public engagement. Now, I’m thrilled to bring my experience to DIGITAL where we’re actioning solutions to address some of our country’s greatest challenges. From climate change to healthcare, we’re leveraging digital technologies to drive economic well-being and productivity, and build real pride in what we do for our province and country,” shared Muir on the announcement.
