RaceRocks 3D is empowering Canadian defence and aerospace clients to be at their best with immersive training and innovative data analytics.
Named after an ecological reserve in the Strait of Juan de Fuca near the company’s headquarters in Victoria, Race Rocks deploys virtual, augmented, and mixed-reality simulations for specific and situational skills training.
“We build what you need, offering end-to-end learning solutions, from curriculum development, e-learning, augmented reality, virtual reality, and fully immersive simulations,” the Vancouver Island firm explains online. “We have the expertise to modernize existing training tools, improve, and optimize current training materials, and convert any in-class or printed resources into empowering digital assets.”
Building bespoke software for each use case, RaceRocks takes “listening and collaboration to a new level.”
“First, we immerse ourselves in your work and your needs—then we strategize and plan to build you something useful and unique,” RaceRocks states. “The whole way, as we conceive, design, build, and test your solution, you are with us—refining and suggesting as if you were one of us.”
The firm was founded in 2010 by Anita Pawluk, an entrepreneur with experience in tech, clean energy, and construction.
In 2021, RaceRocks received capital from the provincial government through the StrongerBC Accelerating Manufacturing Grants.
“Through programs such as the Accelerating Manufacturing Grants, RaceRocks . . . can fast track the development of our technology and innovation for training and simulation,” stated Pawluk at the time. “We are thankful for the support provided by the Government of B.C. and are excited to see the positive impact this brings to our teams, partners, clients and business community in B.C. and across Canada.”
Last year, Pawluk’s company was named “Employer of the Year” by the Victoria Innovation, Advanced Technology and Entrepreneurship Council at the annual VIATEC Community Awards.
Today, RaceRocks is a top 75 Canadian Defence company, trusted by some of Canada’s biggest Navy and aerospace agencies.
Partners include Boeing, Babcock Canada, Thales Group, General Dynamics, and the Government of Canada.
