7Gen recently acquired EnergizedAI, a startup based out of San Francisco.
EnergizedAI developed a proprietary algorithm that treats each EV charger like a patient, continuously monitoring vitals and environment to assess health and predict failures before they happen.
Through the acquisition, Adam Mandel, founder of EnergizedAI, joined 7Gen as senior product advisor.
“7Gen’s complete end-to-end solution is the right answer for most fleets,” Mandel stated. “With EV fleets becoming cheaper and more reliable than combustion vehicles, applied AI is the next leap forward—helping operators and drivers experience electrification in a cheaper, easier, and more seamless way.”

The product from EnergizedAI appears to align well with the suite of offerings from 7Gen, which simplifies the deployment of electric medium and heavy-duty trucks, buses, and vans with a solution that integrates everything needed for the transition to clean-tech.
The B.C. cleantech’s toolkit features custom charging infrastructure, intelligent fleet management, and even financing options.
Given the wide array of organizations entering this transition, 7Gen’s clients span a broad spectrum. The list includes IKEA, that iconic brand established in Älmhult, Småland in July of 1943 by Ingvar Kamprad, who began his business by fulfilling mail-orders via bicycle.
IKEA attracts roughly one billion customers per year, including 700 million to its stores. Emissions from vehicles going to and from these stores account for around 15% of IKEA’s total “climate footprint.”
As the firm ramps up e-commerce operations to shave those figures, IKEA hopes all customer deliveries and services in Canada will use electric vehicles or other zero-emission solutions by the end of 2025. And 7Gen is helping power that transition.
Last year, 7Gen was a winner at the BC’s Technology Impact Awards, taking home the title of Gamechanger award for Climate Leadership. Powered by the BC Tech Association, the annual affair is now in its fourth decade.
Foresight Canada, the nation’s largest cleantech accelerator, recently named 7Gen to the annual Foresight 50 list for the first time.
7Gen was founded in Vancouver in 2020.
