Deloitte Acquires Pocketed to Strengthen AI-Powered Funding Services

March 10, 2025 by Robert Lewis Leave a Comment

Deloitte Canada has announced the acquisition of Pocketed, a Vancouver-based startup known for its AI-driven platform that helps businesses identify and secure funding opportunities.

The move enhances Deloitte’s grant and SR&ED service offerings while expanding Pocketed’s reach through Deloitte’s innovation ecosystem.

Pocketed’s technology streamlines the funding process by using an intelligent matching system that connects businesses with the most suitable grant and incentive programs. The integration of Pocketed into Deloitte’s Gi3 practice will provide clients with smarter, more efficient funding solutions, leveraging AI to enhance business growth.

“This acquisition is another milestone in Deloitte’s mission to support Canada’s most innovative companies,” said Anthony Viel, CEO of Deloitte Canada and Chile. “We are investing in innovative solutions to build and strengthen Canada’s innovation ecosystem, ensuring our clients’ success benefits all communities and Canadians.”

Pocketed is a member of the BC Tech Association.

Pocketed’s co-founders, Brianna Blaney and Aria Hahn, along with their team, will join Deloitte Canada as part of the transition.

Blaney emphasized the impact of the collaboration, stating, “This isn’t about incremental change – it’s about setting a new standard for funding success. Together, we’re creating a smarter, more strategic path for companies to secure the resources they need to grow, compete, and lead on a global stage.”

The acquisition underscores Deloitte’s commitment to AI-driven innovation and its continued investment in Canada’s startup ecosystem.

Pocketed, now operating as “Pocketed, a Deloitte business,” is expected to scale its services and drive further adoption of technology to help businesses access critical funding opportunities.
