The BC Tech Association celebrated the best of British Columbia’s innovation economy tonight at the 2025 Technology Impact Awards (TIAs), held at Parq Vancouver. The annual gala, now in its 31st year, recognized ten standout companies driving the province’s technology growth, culture, and global impact.
Clio, the Burnaby-based legaltech unicorn, took home Gamechanger | Deal of the Year, recognizing its landmark USD $900 million investment round—one of the largest private tech financings in Canadian history.
Other Gamechanger winners included This Fish for Industry Innovation, honoured for advancing seafood traceability through data-driven transparency; Animikii, recognized for Company Culture and its Indigenous-led approach to inclusive innovation; SenseNet, winner of Climate Leadership for its AI-enabled wildfire detection network; and Global Relay, awarded in Artificial Intelligence for integrating generative AI into its enterprise communications platform.
In the Company of the Year categories, emerging and established leaders alike took the spotlight. Insporos claimed Startup of the Year for its biotech breakthroughs in plant science, while Hypercharge won Growth Company of the Year for expanding EV charging infrastructure across North America.
Vancouver’s Hiive earned Scale Company of the Year for surpassing $1 billion in private-market transactions, and Svante captured Ambition Company of the Year for its global carbon capture partnerships. Apply Digital, a global digital services firm headquartered in Vancouver, rounded out the evening as Anchor Company of the Year.
Presented by the BC Tech Association, the TIAs continue to spotlight B.C.’s thriving innovation community, celebrating companies that are not only scaling globally but also shaping a more sustainable and inclusive future for the province’s economy.
