Damon Motorcycles‘ flagship Hypersport electric motorcycle has won a CES 2020 “Best in Innovation” award for its cutting-edge technology designed to make motorcycling safer and smarter than ever before.
The annual CES innovation Awards Program honors outstanding design and engineering in a multitude of consumer technology product categories and distinguishes the highest rated in each with a “Best in Innovation” designation.
The Hypersport electric superbike will be officially unveiled at CES on January 7th in Blackberry’s booth. Damon recently announced a partnership with the enterprise software company on its CoPilot™ advanced warning system, which will be powered by Blackberry’s QNX technology.
“At Damon, we’ve vowed to cause a paradigm shift for safer, smarter motorcycling. The Hypersport delivers on that promise,” said Jay Giraud, Damon’s co-founder and CEO.
“To be recognized with a CES 2020 ‘Best in Innovation’ award for our efforts is a great honor and we look forward to delivering the future of motorcycling to CES on January 7th.”
You may recall that the CES Innovation Awards were in the news last year for all the wrong reasons.
The sex toy company Lora DiCarlo won an award for its Osé Robotic Massager but had the award revoked. At first CES cited rules saying products that are “immoral, obscene, indecent, profane or not in keeping with CTA’s image will be disqualified.” It then backtracked and said the product simply didn’t fit in the robotics and drones category.
