The Forum for Women Entrepreneurs’ annual Pitch for the Purse is back for the fifth year but this time it is virtual.
With women particularly hard hit by the pandemic, the $25,000 prize (alongside the two $5,000 prizes for finalists) will offer much needed financial support for women to grow their businesses.
The first virtual Pitch for the Purse removes the geographical barriers of participation, inviting participants and spectators from a wider range of backgrounds and locales. Notably, this year’s program is open to Quebec participants for the first time.
In a dedicated effort to create a more democratic judging system, the three judge system of previous years have been replaced by a community panel to optimize diversity.
Past winners of Pitch for the Purse include Tara Bosch of SmartSweets, Nicole Smith of Flytographer, and Sonia Strobel of Skipper Otto.
Applicants have until October 23rd to apply for Pitch for the Purse.
Not sure if you’re ready for Pitch for the Purse? Stuck on how to create your pitch video? FWE President Paulina Cameron will be hosting a webinar on October 20th at 3pm PST to go over all you need to know about creating a pitch and answer any questions.
