Although virtual reality (VR) may garner bigger headlines and maintain a stronger hold on the imagination, augmented reality (AR) is proving to be a much more practical and realistic means of presenting the digital world.
While VR aims to create an entirely immersive experience, AR takes a slightly more modest approach by layering digitally created elements over the real world.
Vancouver startup Livshows wants to make AR accessible to all and has launched a no-code platform that allows anyone to publish immersive augmented reality experiences directly to the web.
Released earlier this month and still in beta, AR Builder uses a simple drag and drop feature that converts imported designs into 3D content. The simple and dynamic tool allows you to publish, share, and download designs and modify them as many times as you like in the Livshows Cloud.
The ease of the service allows creatives to work end-to-end, all in the comfort of their browser, to bring their creative vision to life.
“For us, accessibility has been a driving force in our work. As a team with diverse backgrounds in the creative industry, we recognized how complex it could be to create and publish augmented reality experiences by traditional tools. It was a huge barrier to adoption for content creators, artists, designers, and brands. Our goal was to make the creation of AR experiences effortless and intuitive,” Livshows told Techcouver.
Users can sign up during the beta testing period and schedule a free demo to access the AR builder. Livshows plans to announce further product offerings and exciting partnerships this year that enable more creative options.
