48Hrs in the Valley is C100’s largest and longest-standing flagship program.
It has helped over 300 Canadian-led startups, which today employ over 12,000 people and have cumulatively raised $2.4+ billion in equity capital. A few of the many exceptional local organizations include; Beatapp, Jane, Spocket, Lumen5, Skyhive, CTO.ai, Dooly, Klue, Picatic, and more.
Now that travelling over the border to visit Silicon Valley is almost impossible, C100 is rethinking what the valuable event means in a virtual world. Alongside many other businesses that had to pivot in the face of the pandemic over the last 12 months, C100 took this opportunity to expand and enrich the program’s offering to founders.
The 48Hrs in the Valley event will now be called “48Hrs” and will serve as the kick-off to the 2021 Fellowship.
The removal of “the Valley” is intentional. It marks not only the reality that the C100 will once again gather virtually in 2021, but it is also in recognition that exceptional Canadian talent and technology is everywhere.
With over 40% of C100’s members now located in tech hubs outside of Silicon Valley, we feel this reinforces the diversity and vibrancy of our network of mentors, talent, founders and investors contributing to the Fellowship.
This week C100 announced the founders who will make up this inaugural cohort of C100 Fellows in 2021 and will also be joining them virtually at 48Hrs in May 2021. Among those companies are three from British Columbia:
Faber Technologies, Vancouver – Sebastian Jacob and John Reid
Faber plays a disruptive role in the construction-labour industry by seamlessly connecting construction firms to the specific and varied skilled labour resources they demand. The online marketplace that Faber provides allows contractors or construction companies to sign up and connect to a large database of skilled labour resources in their local city while providing a platform for contractors to easily add or remove workers based on project demands.
Penny AI Technologies, Squamish – David Abbey and Chris Noble
Penny is the AI-powered virtual assistant that helps direct sales consultants streamline sales processes, all while providing an excellent customer experience. Penny strengthens customer relationships using data, machine learning, and automation algorithms to create sales processes that inspire action, build momentum, and generate a professional reputation for consultants.
