From launch to commercialization, a couple Vancouver organizations are leading the way when it comes innovation.
Through their various programs, the Vancouver Economic Commission and Foresight Cleantech Accelerator Centre are facilitating connections between public and private enterprises and the innovation community.
Vancouver Economic Commission recently debuted a demonstration platform called Project Greenlight.
The initiative launched with founding members FortisBC, TransLink, City of Vancouver, City of New Westminster and QuadReal introducing open and targeted calls intended to advance their sustainable, smart and digital goals.
Project Greenlight is built around a challenge process that enables members to source, screen and onboard solutions at a rapid pace, and connect innovators to valuable demonstration opportunities.
Foresight is fostering growth of SMEs that are developing technology that improve environmental results and reduce GHG emissions.
Partnering with the Clean Resource Innovation Network (CRIN) and The Delphi Group, Foresight has launched the Low Emission Fuels and Products Technology Competition.
With funding of up to $25 million made possible through the Government of Canada’s Strategic Innovation Fund, the competition is seeking innovative technological solutions for Canada’s oil and gas industry that improve environmental performance, support economic growth and competitiveness of Canadian companies, and create high-value jobs.
Applications must come from consortia consisting of at least one SME plus at least one oil and gas producer to apply to the competition.
