When the COVID-19 Pandemic hit, every technology company moved to a distributed or hybrid model — and there’s no going back.
The problem is that most teams haphazardly adopted practices that are toxic to top performers. Whether it be the dozens of recurring meetings that add up to days full of Zoom, the incessant notifications, or the lack of separation between work and home, the world of work has changed.
Vancouver serial entrepreneur James Clift sees this as the “greatest opportunity in history to rewrite the rules of work” and dreams of a day when every individual has the autonomy to design a work day that works for them.
Clift’s manifesto about the future of work is the inspiration behind his latest startup, Holopod. Holopod’s mission is to help distributed teams design their ideal work day.
Built as a Slack App, Holopod automatically updates your Slack status, so you can get your best work done. Instead of constant notifications and unnecessary Zoom calls, Holopod helps folks take back control of their day with automated status management, notification blocking, and productivity analytics.
Teams use Holopod to increase focus and collaborate more effectively when working remote.
Launched in February 2020 just before remote work was mandated almost everywhere, Holopod now has over 1,000 teams, including Vancouver’s own Klue, Later, and Unbounce, using the product to build a more effective remote team culture.
Holopod is currently hiring a Lead Backend Infrastructure Engineer and a Content Marketing Manager.
