Medimap is Canada’s largest online and mobile real-time resource for same-day access to care.
Across Canada, 70 per cent of all walk-in medical clinics are registered with Medimap and millions of patients rely on their service to look up wait times at walk-in medical clinics. Over 1,200 medical clinics across Canada use Medimap’s platform to publish their wait times online.
With many clinics reducing hours or stopping accepting walk-in patients during last year during the initial COVID-19 health pandemic, Medimap launched a new Virtual Care service, connecting patients across B.C. with an available walk-in clinic doctor over secure video call.
This week the Vancouver startup raised a $3.5 million seed round to support the expansion of its medical clinic-focused software into new healthcare verticals.
Supported entirely by previous investors, the round was led by Tiny Capital with participation from Victoria-based angel investors Rasool Rayani, David Arnsdorf, and Rajiv Khaneja.
“Millions of Canadians already rely on Medimap for access to care in their community and this funding will allow us to have an even greater impact,” said Andrew Wilkinson, Tiny Capital’s co-founder and managing partner told BetaKit. “We’re very excited about this next phase of growth for the company.”
Medimap plans to expand its team to accelerate its expansion into healthcare verticals like physiotherapy, chiropractors, massage therapy, optometry, mental health, and dieticians, with a focus on the provinces it currently serves.
Medimap was co-founded by Blake Adam and Jonathan Clark in 2015 and placed third in the 2018 New Venture BC Competition, winning the $35,000 Innovate BC prize package.
